We thought it would be best to update people on where Hull Jets are currently at:
We have been waiting for EIHA to confirm the exact league structure and format for the upcoming 21/22. To date this has still not been received / announced.
The timing of the rink refurbishment work has been far from ideal, with the works expected to be completed after the season start date. Meetings with the council indicate the works should be completed by the end of September. However we are mindful that construction projects do not always run on time. Club chairman Chris Reader and Head Coach Andy Daintith are visiting the rink on Tuesday 27th July to view the current progress. Having no ice for summer skates / pre-season is a huge detriment to allowing us to plan for the upcoming season. Despite multiple factors being against us, it is our intention to field a side in NIHL 2 (Laidler) for the 21/22 season. We invite all players who are interested in playing for Jets to contact Head Coach Andy Daintith via email (email@example.com) or phone (07966675525).
Andy had this to say, “Missing a year due to COVID, along with the rink refurbishment and players moving on or retiring has created a massive head ache in terms of fielding a team. It has been difficult to plan or make announcements due to the items mentioned above. That being said, I do not want to lose another season of playing time for those who still want to play. We will be looking to run sessions in August from Leeds before we can get back on the ice in Hull. If you are interested in playing for the Jets please get in touch ASAP and we will make a further announcement once we have gauged interest.”
