Wow, what a season!
So last nights result did not go the way we had all hoped, but one result does not distract everyone here at the Jets from reflecting on what an incredible season it has been for the team.
This year was our first season in the NIHL 1, our goal for this season was to establish ourselves in the league and to show we were not here to just make the numbers up.
Well after beating every single team in the league, making the league cup semi-final, play-offs in our first season… I am sure you can agree with me the team certainly achieved our goal!
And when I say team, I don’t just mean the lads with skates on their feet. It takes a whole host of amazing people to make every single game happen.
From our coaches, team manager, commercial manager and all of our sensational match night volunteers, we cannot do what we do without them.
Off the ice was our biggest win this year. You, our fans. You were simply incredible. The support at home made it a venue every visiting team hated to come to. And that reflects in the results with only TWO fixtures played at home without a point. And of course the travelling support we have had this year does not go unnoticed by the team. It really does help the team when they need it the most.
With that said, from everyone at the Hull Jets we would like to thank every fan, volunteer and player for all of your commitment and support this season. It has been unrivalled and more appreciated than we can express. Thank you.
And a special thank you to all of our sponsors who make everything we do possible. Your support has been vital in our journey this year.
Plans are already in motion to make next year even bigger and better, so enjoy your summer and be ready for a HUGE season when we return.
